Dry Skin Solutions
Dry skin can be frustrating–especially in the winter time. The itching and flaking are miserable signs of dry skin. A good tip to remember is to apply moisturizer after a shower while your skin is still damp and continue to use your moisturizer during the day when your skin begins to feel dry.
Other tips for dry skin that can help alleviate the problem:
- Use a humidifier for moisture especially at night while sleeping
- Don’t rub yourself dry, but instead pat yourself with a towel until dry
- Use cool water for a shower and limit your shower to 3 minutes
- Don’t scratch itchy skin; apply moisturizer at times of dryness
- Use hydrating lotion while showering or bathing
- Don’t overdo the scrubbing when exfoliating your dry skin
Remember to moisturize throughout the day and use a cream or lotion that will quickly penetrate the skin and be more effective in keeping you moist and comfortable.
